Maggie Stenson Speaks to Christian Coaches Connect

We’re excited to share that our owner, Maggie Stenson, MCN, RD, LD, CEDS-C, had the honor of speaking with the Christian Coaches Connect group on Tuesday, May 27th. It was a great opportunity to highlight the powerful role Recovery Coaches play in eating disorder treatment especially in supporting clients with ARFID.

Recovery Coaches are a vital part of the treatment team as they work closely with clients to facilitate growth and behavior change in their recovery journey. From meal support and food exposure practice to accountability check-ins throughout the week, coaches bring essential, hands-on support to a process that can often feel overwhelming.

During her talk, Maggie provided education on the treatment of ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), a complex and often misunderstood eating disorder. She walked through the ARFID treatment process and emphasized how recovery coaches can play a key role on the care team. Because ARFID treatment relies heavily on frequent food exposures, especially between therapy and dietitian sessions, coaches are uniquely positioned to support clients in expanding their food variety and gently pushing past fear and anxiety.

Thank you to Christian Coaches Connect for warmly welcoming Maggie, and an even bigger shout-out to our incredible recovery coaches. Your work is so vital and important!
